As we age, we may develop unsightly spots or changes in facial skin color. The LimeLight Facial is a new non-invasive procedure that allows us to reach layers of the skin that lie below the surface, thereby rejuvenating skin. The procedure offers the advantage of improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and sun damage.

The LimeLight Facial is ideal for any part of your face, neck or décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. This technology can help to permanently eliminate these imperfections by emitting a special light to break up pigment in these irregularities. Even light (low contrast) brown spots which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to the Cutera LimeLight treatment.

At Coastal Laser Aesthetics, Inc., we customize your LimeLight Facial to your skin type and selectively target and treat the brown and/or red pigmented areas on your skin. It is the heating of the pigmented brown or red cells that cause the therapeutic effect. Signs of sun damage and age spots will usually flake off after one or two treatments, leaving clearer, younger looking skin. Typically, one or two treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very large or very dark spots, densely freckled areas, or excessively sun-damaged skin. The procedure is gentle, yet provides dramatic results, with no downtime or recovery. In some cases, the LimeLight Facial can be used to enhance the effects of other laser skin treatments.

LimeLight Facials have the following indications:

• Reduction in Erythema or redness of the face, neck or chest including the medical condition called “Rosacea”.

• Flushing (sporadic redness) of the face, neck and chest. LimeLight Facial remains one of the best effective treatments for this condition that causes embarrassment to many individuals. Flushing occurs with stress or alcohol consumption and can be dramatically reduced 75%.

• Rosacea is a medical condition characterized by a low-grade skin inflammation. The redness may be controlled with medication such as topical or oral antibiotics. LimeLight Facial reduces the inflammation in the skin and may eliminate the need for medication.

• Pigmentation Problems (Brown Age-Spots, Melasma or Pregnancy-Mask) are characterized by uneven brown skin pigmentation. Other signs of sun-damage may also be present. LimeLight Facial treatments can significantly reduce this uneven pigmentation, especially when combined with our specific, dermatologist-approved skin-care products.

• Post-Surgical Scars can be lightened with LimeLight Facial treatments that specifically target vessels in the forming scar tissue.

• Stretch Marks that are red or purple in color can be faded using LimeLight Facial.
